Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator at Grayslake area after-school sites. You will lead activities, supervise students, and help with homework, creating a safe, engaging environment after school.

Position pays $15–$18 per hour for part-time hours (Mon-Fri, 1:45 pm–6:00 pm). Ideal candidates have 1+ year of child experience, strong communication, and reliability to support multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Excellent customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Willingness to support additional program locations if needed.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel during shift.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students and take attendance.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons for the age group.
• Support with homework time and academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise during free play, snack time, and transitions.
• Address minor conflicts using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up/drop-off.
• Log incidents and safety concerns with the site lead.
• Set up and clean up program space daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with staff.
