Job summary

SpartanNash YMCA Child Development Center is seeking an Early Learning Assistant Teacher. The role supports planning, developing, and implementing classroom activities with face-to-face leadership in the program. Positions available are full-time (Mon–Fri) and part-time with varied schedules.

The role requires interaction with children, collaboration with parents, and daily preparation of materials. State requirements include certifications and background checks as listed by the center.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or CDA preferred; three to six months childcare related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead daily lesson plans.
• Actively engage with children in the classroom.
• Assist with daily parent communication.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Maintain attendance, arrival, and departure records.
• Supervise children throughout activities.
• Assist with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the teaching team.
