Job summary

Sinclair College seeks an Aviation Flight Instructor (Adjunct) to teach in the Aviation Technology department on the Dayton campus. The position pays $1,046 per credit hour and is open to residents of OH, IN, KY or eligible to work in those states. Part-time, not a contract role.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and FAA certificates (CPL with instrument, CFI). Multiple pathways to qualify are outlined, with benefits for part-time faculty and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma, and possession of FAA certificates and ratings required for the instructional assignment.
• Must meet at least one of: five years of related professional experience or college teaching experience, or 30 semester credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree with demonstrated qualifications; or other comparable education.
• Upload images of FAA certificates in the Licensure/Certification section of the employment application.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
• Employ teaching strategies and use instructional technology as appropriate.
• Modify methods to meet diverse students’ needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adjunct Faculty cannot exceed 12 credit hours per semester.
