Position Summary

Sinclair Community College offers one of the most comprehensiveaviation technology programs in the nation which includes Bachelorof Applied Science degrees in AviationTechnology /Professional Pilot and Unmanned Aerial Systems. Sinclair’s bachelor andassociate degrees and technical certificate programs preparegraduates for careers as commercial fixed wing and helicopterpilots, aircraft mechanics, flight attendants, aircraftdispatchers, aviation managers and unmanned aerial systemsoperators and technicians.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed and prepared by thedepartment
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategieesto meet diverse student’s needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in aviation, aeronautics, UAS,or related area required, master’s degree preferred OR mustmeet the specific requirements associated with the following:
  • Tested Experience:
    • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in content area or relatedfield required
    • Possess a widely accepted license or certification in theindustry required
      • To be considered, candidates must upload images of both thefront and back of their FAA license in the Licensure/Certificationsection of the application
• FAA pilot certificate (private, commercial, or instructor)preferred
• UAS pilot or cred experience preferred
• Must be a US Citizen for ITAR compliance required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a diverse collegecommunity
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
