Position Summary
Sinclair College offers one of the most comprehensive aviationtechnology programs in the nation which includes Bachelor ofApplied Science degrees in AviationTechnology /Professional Pilot and Unmanned Aerial Systems . Sinclair’s bachelor andassociate degrees and technical certificate programs preparegraduates for careers as commercial fixed wing and helicopterpilots, aircraft mechanics, flight attendants, aircraftdispatchers, aviation managers and unmanned aerial systemsoperators and technicians.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a related fieldrequired, OR must meet the specific requirements associatedwith Tested Experience.
- Tested Experience Requirements : Associate’s degree inthe discipline or a related field preferred. A minimum of a highschool diploma required, AND possession of an appropriate industrylicense, credential, or certification that qualifies the individualto teach the content, PLUS one or more of the following:
- Five years of experience working in a field specificallyrelated to the course to be taught and/or college or universityteaching in a field specifically related to the course to be taught(as determined by the department chairperson and approved by thedivision dean), OR
- Comparable or widely accepted experience specific to the fieldof the course to be taught
Additional Requirements
- Industry experience preferred
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work successfully in a community collegeenvironment
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology,including multimedia-based instruction required
- FAA Ratings required for flight instructor applicants:Instrument, Commercial, Certified Flight Instructor ( CFI )

- FAA Ratings preferred for flight instructor applicants:Certified Flight Instructor Instrument ( CFII ), Multi-engine andAirline Transport Pilot ( ATP )
