Job summary

Right At School in Glenview, IL is seeking a part-time on-call Educator to lead activities, supervise children, and support learning in after-school and program sessions.

You will greet students, facilitate enrichment activities, supervise safety, and communicate with families. A minimum of 1 year of child-care experience and a High School diploma are required; first aid/CPR and background checks are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred).
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions; ensure safety and structure.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the Program Manager or site lead; log reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.
