Job summary

Right At School is hiring for a part-time, on-call Educator in Glenview, IL. You’ll work directly with kids, leading activities, ensuring a safe, structured environment, and building positive relationships.

The role emphasizes hands-on enrichment, homework support, and social-emotional learning to help children thrive in school and at home. Pay rate ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday after-school hours (2:45 PM–6:00 PM).

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children (preferred).
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up and drop‑off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.
