Job summary

Amcor is seeking an entry-level Inspector/Packer to inspect, package, and label finished goods on 12‑hour shifts. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and following GMP and safety procedures to ensure product quality and accurate counts.

Responsibilities include sealing, labeling, palletizing, and operating basic packing equipment, while maintaining a clean work area and complying with all department directives. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • Monitor quality of machine output.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Work in a production environment with alarms and sounds.

  • Properly seal, label, and stack cartons of finished product.
  • Palletize boxes weighing up to 35 lbs and operate pallet jack as trained.
  • Hand-pack bottles according to written instructions.
  • Operate packing equipment at a basic entry level.
  • Clear product jams as needed and trained.
  • Ensure packaging supplies and labels are available in the production area.
  • Perform basic housekeeping and maintain a clean work area.
  • Stand for up to 12 hours a day packing bottles in cartons.
  • Completely fill out labels and paperwork.
  • Verify correct weights and counts.
  • Willingly work overtime when needed.

Job description

Purpose

The Inspector/Packer position is an entry‑level role responsible for inspecting, packaging, and labeling finished goods while acting in a safe manner. The position requires continuous standing, reaching, and grabbing during 12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all Berry safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Follow OSHA rules and regulations
  • Monitor product quality; inspect bottles for defects and boxes for damage, and follow customer pack patterns
  • Communicate and cooperate with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve department and plant goals
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing and practice good hygiene
  • Willingly work overtime when needed
  • Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations such as fire or accidents and direct others’ activities
  • Follow all department procedures and directives
Job Responsibilities
  • Properly seal, label, and stack cartons of finished product
  • Palletize boxes weighing up to 35 lbs, band/utilize pallet banders, move pallets to staging area, and operate pallet jack as required and trained
  • Hand‑pack bottles according to written instructions
  • Operate packing equipment at a basic entry level
  • Clear product jams as needed and trained
  • Ensure packaging supplies and labels are available in the production area
  • Perform basic housekeeping/5S; sweep, clean, and wipe down machinery, maintaining a clean work area
  • Consistently lift boxes that weigh up to 35 lbs
  • Completely fill out labels and paperwork
  • Verify correct weights and counts
  • Stand for up to 12 hours a day packing bottles in cartons
  • Construct cardboard boxes from collapsed cartons
  • Willingly work overtime when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Authority
  • Stop work when necessary
  • Put product on hold for quality issues
