Job summary

Humana is seeking a Data Protection Security Investigations Analyst 2 to collaborate with stakeholders and Humana teams, identifying high-risk insider activity and ensuring controls to mitigate data loss. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of relevant technical experience in Data Security, Cyber Data Protection, DLP, security operations, insider risk, or incident response.
• Experience triaging security alerts, reviewing logs, collecting evidence, documenting findings, and supporting investigations.
• Working knowledge of DLP, data classification, information protection, security monitoring, data handling, and common exposure scenarios.
• Ability to analyze routine to moderately complex issues, follow established procedures, and make sound, evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience supporting centralized intake, ticket handling, case management, or operational queues with consistent prioritization and follow-up.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for explaining Data Security controls to technical and business stakeholders.
• Commitment to accurate documentation and continuous improvement of scalable, efficient workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze DLP alerts and controls across email, endpoint, web, cloud/CASB, collaboration, and data classification platforms to validate policy behavior.
• Explain DLP, data classification, and information protection controls to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Serve as a centralized point of intake for Data Protection inquiries, control questions, investigation requests, exceptions, and incident tickets; triage and coordinate through resolution.
• Investigate indicators such as unusual data access, bulk downloads, unauthorized sharing, unapproved storage, or bypass attempts.
• Coordinate additional review or escalation within Threat Management & Response, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, HR, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain objective, evidence-based documentation to support consistent, defensible decisions.
• Coordinate response and escalation when elevated risk is identified; partner to resolve investigations and reduce data-loss risk.
• Respond to inquiries about DLP alerts, data classification, control behavior, exception handling, security reviews, and processes.
• Communicate findings, limitations, and recommended next steps clearly to technical and business audiences.
• Maintain case notes, investigation summaries, and SOPs; compile operational data on alerts, queue aging, and compliance evidence.
