Pay Range: $25–$28/hour + Uncapped Bonus/Commission
The Inside Account Manager (IAM) is responsible for managing and growing a defined portfolio of customer accounts. Based in the Franklin office, this position is part of a centralized inside sales team and plays a key role in proactive account management, cross-selling, customer retention, and executing a disciplined, CRM-driven sales strategy.
Account Management & Growth
- Own and manage a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts.
- Ensure consistent purchasing activity and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Drive increased share of wallet across multiple product lines.
- Position the organization as the customer's primary and preferred supplier.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with assigned customers.
- Maintain regular outreach across all assigned accounts, with a minimum of quarterly touchpoints.
- Execute a structured call cadence based on account size, activity, and growth potential.
- Conduct approximately 100–150 customer conversations per week.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for customers.
- Proactively identify customer needs and opportunities to strengthen relationships.
- Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across business units and product lines.
- Support assigned operating companies with the ability to expand relationships across the full portfolio.
- Partner closely with field sales and internal teams to grow and strengthen customer relationships.
- Identify additional products and services that align with customer needs.
CRM & Performance Tracking
- Accurately document all customer interactions, activities, and sales opportunities within the CRM.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account notes, contact information, and activity records.
- Use account data and CRM insights to prioritize outreach and identify opportunities.
- Consistently track activity and performance against established goals.
Customer Support
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance.
- Assist customers with quoting, order follow-up, and other account-related needs.
- Ensure customers receive timely and accurate communication throughout the sales and service process.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma with 2–3 years of relevant experience in account management, inside sales, customer service, or another customer-facing role; or a bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience managing a high-volume book of business or customer portfolio.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain consistent, high-volume customer outreach.
- Experience working within CRM systems.
- Strong customer-service mindset with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple accounts, opportunities, and customer needs.
Preferred
- Experience within packaging, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial sales.
- Exposure to multi-product or multi-business environments.
- Experience with cross-selling, upselling, or portfolio-based sales.
- Previous experience working in a metrics-driven inside sales environment.
