Job description

Universal Pipe Valves and Fittings in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is hiring an Inside Sales Specialist to support waterworks projects involving potable and wastewater systems, treatment plants, and pump stations. The role combines technical project quoting, drawing interpretation, preparation of submittals, and inside sales responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
  2. Prepare accurate project quotes and cost estimates based on technical knowledge of water systems, equipment, and standards.
  3. Develop and submit technical submittals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  4. Maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and project managers to gather pricing and technical data.
  5. Operate within procurement processes, assemble bid documents, and coordinate with project teams.
  6. Provide technical support to clients and internal teams regarding waterworks products and systems.
  7. Track and manage project documentation including quotes, submittals, and correspondence.
  8. Support sales efforts by responding to customer inquiries, preparing proposals, and following up on leads.
  9. Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in water and wastewater treatment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operations, pump station systems, and distribution networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with potable and wastewater systems, including treatment processes and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for preparing submittals and supporting sales activities.
  • Proficiency in preparing cost estimates and project proposals.
  • Experience with procurement, bid preparation, and vendor coordination is a plus.
