Job summary

Ingersoll Cutting Tools is seeking an Inside Sales/Order Entry (IT.TE.DI) professional for our Rockford, IL campus. The role focuses on fast, accurate order handling, pricing, quotes, and high-volume customer support across emails and calls.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, organizational skills, and a customer-service mindset. Experience in inside sales or order entry in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Salary ranges from $18 to $22 per hour.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of emails, phone calls, and customer requests.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering orders, preparing quotes, maintaining product information, and communicating pricing and availability.
• Ability to effectively multitask, work under time-sensitive conditions, and consistently meet customer expectations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn and navigate company-specific computer systems, e-Catalogs, and order-entry software.
• Ability to understand product information and communicate technical or product‑related information clearly to customers and internal personnel.
• Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, order entry, or a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to follow through on customer requests from initial inquiry through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Manage a high volume of customer correspondence, including intake and response to up to 125 emails per day.
• Maintain and update e-Catalog items to ensure product information is accurate and current.
• Provide customers with product pricing, availability, and related information; prepare quotes as needed.
• Handle a high volume of incoming telephone calls, including up to 50 calls per day, while providing excellent customer service.
• Follow up on delivery information, order status, and customer requests, including processing expedite requests.
• Answer inquiries regarding products and services and assist customers in identifying appropriate solutions.
