Mead Lumber Company is seeking a Sales Support Associate to bolster both our sales team and retail operations. In this dual role, you will assist Outside Sales Representatives by managing customer accounts and orders, while aiding customers at the retail counter with expert advice on building materials.

You will help drive sales growth, ensure customer satisfaction, and create a positive shopping experience. The role offers ESOP participation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience in construction or construction sales is a plus.
• Experience with Sales Processes or Administration.
• Familiarity with BizTrack is a plus.
• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to assess situations, prioritize tasks, and make timely decisions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Professional, timely, and considerate with excellent customer service skills.
• Able to operate and manage a cash register accurately and process large amounts of information.
• Must be detail-oriented, proactive, reliable, and flexible.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Positive attitude and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations including ordering, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control.
• Input orders and quote material lists accurately.
• Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent service.
• Write tickets for stock and special orders.
• Work closely with outside sales staff and support their accounts.
• Monitor open orders and ensure timely completion.
• Set up loads with dispatch and coordinate deliveries and credit pick-ups.
• Process confirmations, invoices, and credits.
• Operate cash register accurately.
