Job summary

Mead Lumber Company in Ankeny, IA, is hiring a Sales Support Associate to back our Outside Sales Representatives and assist at the retail counter. You will manage customer accounts and orders, provide product guidance, and help customers complete purchases to drive sales and satisfaction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Experience in construction or building materials is a plus.
Familiarity with sales processes or administration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations including ordering, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control.
Input orders and quote material lists accurately.
Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent service.
Write tickets for stock and special orders.
Work closely with outside sales staff and support their accounts.
Monitor open orders and ensure timely completion.
Set up loads with dispatch and coordinate deliveries and credit pick-ups.
Process confirmations, invoices, and credits.
Operate cash register accurately.
