Job summary

NEXT Industries is hiring an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative in Troy, MI. This onsite role focuses on delivering exceptional customer support, processing orders, and driving inside sales for our industrial tools and MRO supplies.

You will interact with customers, source products, prepare quotes, and coordinate with outside sales and warehouse teams to ensure satisfaction. A background in industrial distribution and ERP/CRM familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Inside Sales/Customer Service in industrial distribution or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of industrial products, cutting tools, metal working, fasteners, or MRO supplies.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, P21, SAP, NetSuite) and CRM platforms is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Sourcing products, negotiating costs and supporting sales pricing.
• Process customer orders accurately using ERP/CRM systems.
• Generate quotes, follow up on quotes, and assist in converting leads to sales.
• Proactively reach out to existing customers to drive repeat business and promote new products.
• Work closely with outside sales, purchasing, and warehouse staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle product availability questions, pricing, delivery status, and order issues.
• Maintain accurate customer records and update account information as needed.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints with professionalism and positive outcomes.
• Develop strong knowledge of product lines (industrial components, fasteners, tools, MRO supplies).
• Support the overall sales strategy and contribute to team sales goals.
