Job summary

Roberts Oxygen in Greenville, SC is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to deliver excellent customer service, process sales, and support branch operations. The role requires knowledge of welding products, a CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

You will greet walk-ins, answer phones, and help maintain inventory and showroom displays while supporting the sales team and drivers.

Qualifications

• 2 years in inside sales and customer service or welding experience.
• Excellent driving record; CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or willing to obtain).
• Greet walk-in visitors and answer phones professionally and courteously.
• Proven customer service experience through respectful interactions.
• Process sales transactions and build long-term customer relationships.
• Support Sales staff with timely customer information and branch coverage.
• Maintain inventory, showroom displays, and branch cleanliness.
• Safely load cylinders and products on trailers for delivery.
• Commit to high performance and safety procedures at all times.
• Basic math ability and ability to lift 75 lbs.
• High school education or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Pass pre-employment screenings when selected.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and attend training.
• Learn new programs and demonstrate basic mathematical aptitude.

What makes you stand out?

You have proven skills in providing excellent and effective customer service assisting both external and internal customers. Your passion is selling and you have general knowledge of welding products and hardgoods. You have a Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or are willing to obtain) and are ready and willing to perform relief delivery driving when needed.

Skills and experience requirements:

• 2 years of insides sales and customer service, or welding experience
• Excellent driving record; Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker (X) endorsements - or willing to obtain endorsements
• Immediately and politely greet and assists walk‑in visitors and customers, and promptly answers phones in a professional and courteous manner
• Proven customer service experience provided through thoughtful and respectful interaction with customers regarding services, products, and invoices
• Efficiently processes customer sales transactions while building trust and long‑term relationships with customers to ensure future sales growth and company profitability
• Supports Sales staff/management by providing timely and correct customer information, follow up scheduling, and fill‑in branch coverage, including relief delivery driving duties
• Timely communicates and coordinates with Store Manager to ensure appropriate product levels are maintained. Receives and updates inventory, stocks shelves, counters, tables, and maintains showroom displays. Maintains show room and location cleanliness.
• Safely maneuvers and loads cylinders or other products on trailers and customer transportation
• Committed to high performance through outstanding attendance and overall dependable work habits, Adheres to all company policies and guidelines as well as safety procedures
• Basic computer skills including internet searching, data entry, and ability to learn new programs
• Demonstrate basic mathematical aptitude and function
• Ability to lift 75lbs.
• High school education or equivalent - Bachelor’s degree is a plus
• If selected, ability to pass pre‑employment screenings
