Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of sales, retail, customer service, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in building materials, home improvement, construction, or related industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating materials for residential projects is preferred.
• Experience operating or willingness to learn material handling equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist retail customers in person, by phone, and via email.
• Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and returns/exchanges.
• Guide customers in selecting the best products and solutions for their needs.
• Build positive customer relationships through professional and responsive service.
• Prepare material estimates and project quotes for smaller construction projects, including decks, fences, stairs, and sheds.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through product recommendations and add-on offerings.
• Schedule and coordinate product deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Enter customer orders accurately into company systems.
• Monitor order details and follow through on customer requests.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking, merchandising, and signage.
