Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America's largest supplier of building materials, is seeking an Inside Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors by providing quotes and product information in person and over the phone. You will coordinate with purchasing, design staff, and delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely service.

This role does not involve commission or salaried pay and requires 1–2 years in the building-materials industry, plus strong communication and sales skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years in the building material industry with product knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company during the sales process by collecting customer needs and acting as liaison between departments.
• Respond to inquiries on product selection, pricing, orders, deliveries, and quotations.
• Initiate calls to customers to generate sales and meet targets.
• Develop product and industry knowledge through company training and stay informed on construction materials.
• Provide accurate material takeoffs and assist drafting/engineering as needed.
• Code and input orders, pricing info, and data into the computer system; generate invoices and tickets.
• Maintain stock levels and operate the cash register; handle credits and returns as required.
