Job summary

MSPCA-Angell in Boston seeks an Assistant Manager of Inpatient Services to support day-to-day operations of the inpatient unit under the Inpatient Services Manager. You will foster a collaborative, compassionate environment while upholding integrity, service, and excellence.

This leadership role oversees inpatient personnel, assists with scheduling and hiring, manages inventory and budgets, mentors staff, and ensures a positive experience for staff and patients.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of veterinary hospital experience (ECC preferred).
• At least one year in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A cover letter is required to demonstrate your writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inpatient staff and ensure high standards of care and teamwork.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor and guide workflow.
• Partner with other departments to ensure policy compliance and patient care excellence.
• Assist with day-to-day inpatient operations, including ER, ICU, and SCU.
• Support staff performance through coaching and participate in reviews.
• Assist with payroll, scheduling, attendance tracking, and personnel records.
