Job summary

Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston is seeking Animal Care Attendants for the Inpatient Department. This full-time role supports veterinary staff and provides hands-on care to our patients, with Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts and rotating weekends.

The training program advances through three levels, teaching basic hospital workflows, safe restraint, patient handling, feeding, and accurate record-keeping. Candidates should lift up to 50 pounds and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initial responsibilities include hospital orderly tasks such as laundry, setting up patient beds, cleaning wards and kennels, stocking (food, medications, and supplies), and accurately documenting medical records in digital treatment sheets.
• Provide more direct patient care after training, including safe restraint for procedures, walking patients, bathing and cleaning, feeding, icing, nebulizing, and related tasks.
