Squaxin Island Tribe seeks a Substance Use Disorder Professional Counselor III for an inpatient tribal facility. The role emphasizes culturally grounded, trauma-informed care and DBT-informed treatment within a holistic healing framework that connects individuals to family, culture, and community.

The position requires WA SUDP certification, advanced education, and collaboration with Cultural Advisors, Elders, and Traditional Practitioners to support healing and recovery for Native families.

Formación

• Must be certified as a Substance Use Disorder Professional by the State of Washington.
• Experience in Native American health or human services preferred.
• Must pass a criminal history background check and comply with DOH ethics standards.
• Must have a current, valid Washington State Driver’s License.

Responsabilidades

• Provide comprehensive SUD assessments and ASAM placement determinations.
• Deliver individual and group counseling using DBT-informed approaches with culturally responsive plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Maintain documentation per WAC, Tribal, Medicaid, and accreditation standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement activities.

Educación

Master’s Degree and one year OR Bachelor’s Degree in health, human service area or related field

Associate’s Degree in health, human service area or related field and five years of relevant experience
