Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Sterile Ops Team. The role supports pharmacists in preparation and dispensing of medications for the inpatient setting, with emphasis on sterile compounding and inventory control.

Training is provided for sterile procedures; positions offer 8- or 10-hour shifts, with some weekend rotation and holiday coverage. Certification through PTCB or NHA is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
• Apply departmental processes regarding inventory control.
• Perform duties directed by pharmacists and/or managers in line with laws and hospital policies.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to users.
• Operate computer systems and pharmacy technology.
