Job summary

Vanderbilt Health’s Oncology Pharmacy is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing chemotherapy and other medications. The role emphasizes sterile compounding, inventory control, and excellent customer service for patients and staff.

This position requires certification through PTCB or NHA and a Tennessee license within 90 days. It offers shifts with substantial variety, including 4x10s or 5x8s, and rotating holidays, aligning with patient care

Qualifications

• Pharmacist support including preparation, dispensing and distribution of medications.
• Maintains inventory control processes.
• Follows federal, state and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Operates computer systems related to medication use processes.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
• Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
• Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with laws and hospital policies.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
• Responsibilities may be expanded as needed.
