Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide expert nursing care in an acute setting. Hours are 9a-7p with an every third weekend rotation. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for acutely ill patients in alignment with ANA standards.

Strong collaboration with the care team and families is essential. The role requires a BSN, Illinois RN license, and BLS certification, plus excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN required with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of start.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data on patient condition and plans individualized nursing care.
• Directs care and coordinates with assistants involved in patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to deliver coordinated care.
• Participates in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Uses evidence and research to guide nursing practice.
