Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide clinical nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process, collaborating with families and the health team. The role emphasizes adherence to ethical standards and evidence-based practice.

Requires a BSN, Illinois RN license, and BLS; ADN with commitment to BSN within 3 years is acceptable. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and analytic skills are essential; experience in ER or pediatric ER is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN is required; Illinois RN license is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• ADN accepted with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Collect data, identify outcomes, plan care, coordinate delivery, and evaluate outcomes.
• Direct care and manage use of nursing assistants as appropriate.
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and staff; document care plan.
• Participate in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and update the plan of care.
• Apply best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
