Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide expert nursing care to acutely ill patients, following ANA standards and the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team, with adherence to ethics and compliance programs. A BSN is required; ADN is acceptable with a plan to obtain BSN within three years of employment.

Qualifications

• BSN required and Illinois RN license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data to plan individualized nursing care.
• Directs care and utilizes nursing assistants appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians, and staff; documents the plan of care.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and adjusts the care plan accordingly.
• Uses best available evidence, including research findings, to guide care decisions.
