Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant II at Rusk State Hospital. Qualifications

• Twelve months of direct care experience is preferred.
• CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the clinical supervision of a Registered Nurse in an inpatient setting to deliver quality psychiatric nursing care.
• Maintains direct and ongoing therapeutic interactions with patients to promote living and social skills within the recovery plan.
• Documents patient conditions and behaviors in the electronic record and participates in shift reports and recovery team meetings.
• Assists with activities of daily living and supports safety to promote independence and recovery.
• Performs delegated nursing duties commensurate with competency and participates in unit-based programming.
