Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Terrell, TX is hiring a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant II to perform moderately complex rehabilitative patient care under a Registered Nurse. You will deliver direct care, assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and participate in recovery planning within an inpatient psychiatric setting at Terrell State Hospital.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care techniques and treatment programs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document patient care in electronic records.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to train and guide others.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may work rotating or overtime shifts.
• Supports recovery plans and engages patients with goal-oriented interactions.
• Assists with activities of daily living and accompanies patients to appointments.
• Communicates effectively with team members to promote a positive workplace.
• Monitors vital signs and supports medication administration under RN supervision.
• Promotes safety and patient engagement; participates in recovery teams and groups.
