Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission's Austin State Hospital seeks a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant II to join the inpatient care team. You will work under RN supervision to deliver quality psychiatric nursing care and support recovery goals.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, document observations in the electronic record, participate in recovery planning, and engage in unit-based programming to promote a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) months of direct care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care techniques and recovery programs.
• Ability to read, write and understand English to communicate instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative patient care under RN supervision in an inpatient setting.
• Observe, document, and report patient conditions and behaviors in the electronic record.
• Maintain direct therapeutic interactions to support recovery goals and participate in unit-based programming.
