Job summary

University Hospitals Portage Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist to perform specimen procurement, processing, and related support duties in an inpatient setting. The role includes phlebotomy, data entry, and adherence to PHI and safety policies.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a defined career ladder based on education and experience. Prior phlebotomy training is preferred and high school completion is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal phlebotomy training from an accredited program preferred.
• Experience with inpatient specimen collection a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet turnaround times.
• Performs phlebotomy and data entry for specimens.
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing and supports overall lab operations.
• Follows all policies, PHI handling rules, and safety procedures.
