Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our laboratory team. You will perform specimen procurement and processing, ensuring accurate labeling and timely handling of samples.

The role emphasizes patient interaction, safe venipuncture, and adherence to PHI and safety policies. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are required, with CPT certification preferred. Competitive pay and a sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers and co-workers.
• Working knowledge of pre-analytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs tasks to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs venipuncture, heel stick, and fingerstick for all ages.
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing and prepares for analysis.
• Acts as a trainer and resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists.
• Performs other duties as assigned; complies with policies and PHI requirements.
