South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick procedures with careful patient handling. You will identify patients, label specimens, and ensure accurate data entry and specimen labeling at the bedside.

Responsibilities include prioritizing STAT draws, timely specimen transport to the lab, and maintaining clear communication with clinical staff.

Formación

• Minimum education: High school diploma (4 years) preferred.
• Minimum work experience: 1 year preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) per established procedure.
• Identifies patients and correctly labels tubes and orders.
• Prioritizes STAT draws and ensures timely transport to the lab.
• Uses computers for order entry, NCC lists, and test selection.
• Maintains organized work area and assists co-workers to ensure workflow.
• May assist in training new staff and students.
• Answers phones and greets patients in outpatient lab when required.
