Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The role supports pharmacists and technicians in preparing prescriptions, coordinating medication access, and enhancing patient care within a fast-paced inpatient setting. The position emphasizes IV compounding, use of Omnicell and DoseEdge workflows, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to optimize drug therapy.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice and drug distribution.
• Lapse or failure to meet requirements may result in disciplinary action or termination.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in collecting clinical and patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
• Use pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing and perform necessary calculations.
• Obtain appropriate supervision and verification from pharmacists for tasks as needed.
• Maintain and verify medication supplies, inventory including controlled substances and 340B/Charging management.
• Communicate with caregivers about responsibilities and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
