Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO.

The role involves preparing prescriptions, coordinating medication access, and assisting pharmacists and technicians to optimize drug therapy during patient stays. Top candidates will have inpatient pharmacy experience, IV compounding skills, and familiarity with Omnicell.

Qualifications

High School or equivalent is required.
Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
Current knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice and controlled substances.
Any lapse or failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to termination, at the hiring manager's discretion.

Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
Utilizes pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing and compounds medications as appropriate to practice site.
Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist and understands when verification is needed.
Maintains medication supplies and verifies controlled substance inventories for security and cost management.
Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
