Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy to support pharmacists in medication preparation, dispensing and distribution. You will handle inventory controls, triage calls, and deliver outstanding customer service to patients and staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requires certification through PTCB or NHA or LIC-Pharmacy Technician in Tennessee, with hours Monday–Friday rotating shifts and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certified Pharmacy Technician credential (PTCB or NHA) or LIC-Pharmacy Technician (TN).
• Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
• Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
• Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with laws, regulations and hospital policies.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
