Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy. The role emphasizes assisting pharmacists in preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications, with a focus on inventory control and cross-training across central pharmacy operations.

The position is located in the new satellite pharmacy in the Jim Ayers Tower, with evening hours (2:00pm–10:30pm) and every 3rd weekend rotation. Certification through PTCB or NHA is required to be considered.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA).
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate pharmacy computer systems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist with preparation, dispensing and distribution of medications.
• Supports inventory control and replenishment processes.
• Performs duties under pharmacist and supervisor guidance in compliance with laws and policies.
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Operates computer systems and supports cross-functional pharmacy operations.
