Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician II for its Inpatient Pharmacy to support sterile and non-sterile medication preparation, distribution, and pharmacy operations on rotating shifts.

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in training staff, manage inventory, and uphold quality assurance while delivering patient-centered service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma (or state accepted equivalency).
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Board of Pharmacy or have a Massachusetts Pharmacy Intern License.
• Must be Certified by a Board approved credentialing program, PTCB or exCPT. Pharmacy Interns are not required to hold CPhT certification.
• Work requires 1-2 years pharmacy technician experience. Prior experience with sterile (IV) compounding is preferred.
• Pharmacy students who have completed 2 years of education in an approved college/school of pharmacy are eligible for pharmacy internship, and may be waived for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute sterile (IV) and non-sterile medications.
• Clean and maintain sterile products areas, and operate pharmacy automated systems.
• Maintain inventory and supplies, perform daily quality assurance monitoring, and maintain pharmacy records.
• Assist in training staff under supervision of Pharmacy Managers and Supervisors.
