MCW & CUW: 1 weeknight shift every week and every other weekend (1st and 2nd shifts).
UW: Every third weekend (1st and 2nd shifts).

Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern performs a combination of clinical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual is allowed to participate in any practice activity of a pharmacist, provided that such activity is under the supervision of a pharmacist. As the Intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. This individual will also assist in the education and training of the pharmacy interns and students. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital pharmacy internship program preferred.
Accepted into a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution.
Must complete a competency checklist within 3 months of completing orientation and training sessions.
Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes. Ability to efficiently use the Epic pharmacy system to document medication histories, discharge teaching and other clinical interventions.
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
