Job summary

Froedtert Health in Menomonee Falls, WI, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our Integrated Service Center on-site.

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will prepare and distribute medications, participate in training new staff, and ensure compliance with Wisconsin Pharmacy rules; on-call weekends are possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program is preferred.
• Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCE or ExCPT is required within 6 months of hire.

• Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department.
• Participates in training new staff.
• Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections.
• Other duties as assigned.

Shift Details:

Primarily 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday with varying start times from 0600 to 0900. Holidays: Rotating holiday on-call responsibility. Weekends: On-call approximately every 8th weekend.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.
