Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The role involves basic nursing procedures for stable patients, maintaining medical asepsis, upholding patient dignity and privacy, and documenting care in the electronic medical record.

You will work under RN supervision and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acute care experience within the last 3 years preferred.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program preferred.

Responsibilities

• ADL support, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, and I&O.
• Document care in EMR and report changes to nursing staff.
• Time management for admissions, discharges, and transfers coordination.
• Bedside safety initiatives and maintaining a clean environment.
• Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures.
