Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh seeks a patient care associate to assist with direct care under RN supervision in a stable patient population. You will document care, perform routine nursing tasks, and help coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers on the inpatient unit.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read/write, basic math and computer skills, along with CPR certification and background checks. Training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic mathematics skills and basic computer literacy.
• CPR certification and background clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care activities (ADL, vital signs, meals, ambulation, specimen collection, I&O).
• Participates in safety, cleanliness and patient satisfaction initiatives on the unit.
• Documents vitals, weights, I&O, treatments and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers and supports unit operations.
