Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a nursing support role to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. This position supports RNs in caring for stable and acutely ill patients, performs basic nursing procedures, and coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers in the inpatient unit.

Essential duties include documenting vital signs, I&O, mobility, and routine treatments, while upholding HIPAA and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions; basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills needed to document in EMR.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document vital signs, activities of daily living, and routine care.
• Support RN in care of acutely ill patients and coordination of unit activities.
• Document changes in patient condition and report to nursing staff.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers, and maintain unit safety and cleanliness.
