Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a nursing assistant to join the inpatient adult unit. The role supports daily living activities, vital signs, and routine monitoring under RN supervision, with shifts described as 1 shift per week (8 hours).

Under supervision, you may assist with medication administration as delegated and participate in timely patient care, comfort, and safety while maintaining age-appropriate care and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Successful completion of Medical-Surgical Clinical.
• Successful completion of a Pharmacological Concepts course.

Responsibilities

• Under the observation of the Registered Nurse, completes activities of daily living, vital sign completion and blood glucose monitoring.
• Collaborates with the Registered Nurse in establishing a plan of care based on health, education and patient needs.
• Under supervision, evaluates patient response and communicates observations to the RN.
• Develops delegation skills appropriate to Health Unit Coordinators and Nursing Assistants on unit.
• Administers medication as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age.
