Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide to support bedside care in the 34109 Advocate South Suburban Hospital unit. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, documenting vital signs, and coordinating with the RN to ensure patient safety and comfort.

This full-time position offers 36 hours weekly, shift 7:00 pm–7:30 am, with every-other weekend and holiday rotation. Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, CNA certification, and BLS within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and strong communication are required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities are essential.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, feeding and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates patient observations to RN.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Maintains stock and cleans nursing area and equipment.
• Supports patient positioning, transfers and nutritional care as directed by RN.
• Ensures infection prevention practices and proper use of PPE.
