Job summary

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) in Washington, DC is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient support in an inpatient behavioral health setting. You will work closely with nurses, therapists, and the treatment team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient behaviors, assisting with daily activities and treatment programs, and participating in milieu management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Observe patient behaviors and communicate relevant changes to the clinical team.
• Support patients with daily activities and treatment programming.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and milieu management.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
• Follow hospital safety, documentation, and patient-care procedures.
