Job summary

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) is seeking a Mental Health Tech to work directly with patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting. You will collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.

You will observe patient behavior, support daily activities and treatment programming, and participate in milieu management while adhering to hospital safety and documentation procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, healthcare, residential, or direct-care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Observe patient behaviors and communicate relevant changes to the clinical team.
• Support patients with daily activities and treatment programming.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and milieu management.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
• Follow hospital safety, documentation, and patient-care procedures.
