Job summary

The Pavilion Hospital seeks an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to join a multidisciplinary team in Champaign, Illinois. You will assign ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM codes at discharge for both inpatient and outpatient cases while ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and JCAHO standards.

You will collaborate with physicians to resolve coding questions and prioritize workload to support revenue cycle goals within a private behavioral health hospital setting.

Qualifications

• One year of coding experience preferred.
• Experience with ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM coding in healthcare settings preferred.
• Behavioral health coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM codes at discharge for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Communicate with physicians to resolve coding questions.
