Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

The position requires CCS (preferred) or RHIT/RHIA credentials, at least three years of inpatient coding experience, and proficiency with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will be considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience in academic medical centers or trauma facilities preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants and NICU.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes per standards and regulations.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Meet productivity and quality expectations consistently.

Position: Inpatient Coder

Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)

Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
