• Experience in academic medical center or trauma facility advantageous.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical, Transplant, NICU, and other complex cases.
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes per regulatory and industry standards.
• Maintain timely, accurate coding in a high-acuity environment and meet productivity/quality expectations.

Position: Inpatient Coder

Client: Healthcare Provider

Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)

Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
