Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This 6-month engagement supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Responsibilities include accurate inpatient coding across specialties and applying diagnoses and procedures per standards, while maintaining timely, quality coding to meet productivity targets

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will be considered.
• Experience with Epic EHR and 3M encoder.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical, Transplants, NICU, and other complex cases.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes per organizational and regulatory standards.
• Maintain timely, accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Meet established productivity and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
